  Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya is one of the famous four holiest place of Buddhism. Mohabodhi Temple is also known as Buddhist temple in Bodh Gaya.   Mahabodhi Temple is located at Bodh Gaya 96 km frm Patna in Bihar. It is the place where The Buddha and Siddhartha Gautama was enlightened. This site consist one main temple and some scared places. You might be thinking what stupid thing is saying this guy? But it is true that Bodh gaya is also a scared place. Lord Buddha was reached in Enlightenment when he sat under the bodhi tree at the age of 35 years. Siddharatha was also reached in Enlightenment under this Bodhi tree. And because of this reason this place is also a scared place.

  The great thing about Mahabodhi temple is that in 2002 UNESCO declared it as world Heritage site. People believed that original temple was constructed by Great emperor Ashoka in 3rd century. But in 11th century most of the temple was destroyed by Muslim Ruler. After that this temple is renovated few times and in 2002 it is declared at world heritage site. There is a meditation park near Mahabodhi temple. Let me tell you about entry fee of Mahabodhi temple and Meditation park at Bodh Gaya. 

   Mahabodhi temple timings are from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm . There is no charges applied for entry in Mahabodhi temple. But if you want to take some photos of this temple then you have to pay 20 Rs of camera fee. If you want to take videos of this temple then you have to pay 300 Rs for video camera fee. Meditation park open with sunrise and close with sunset. There is 20 Rs entry fee for visitors and 25 rs fee for meditatoors.
