We all know that India is famous for Ancient History. People from all over the world are interested in the History of India. We have already written the article about Famous Historical Places of India. But If we talk about the Gujarat state of India then Gujarat has also too many Historical places which are famous in the world. Tourists come to the Gujarat to visit Historical Places of Gujarat. Here in this article I will give you the introduction about Top Historical Places of Gujarat.

       1. Sidi Saiyad Mosque in Ahmedabad

The Sidi Saiyad Mosque is one of the great Mosque of India. Gujarati People call this mosque as Sidi Saiyad Ni Jali. It is the number one Historical Place of Gujarat. Sidi Saiyad Ni Jali is located in Ahmedabad near Lal Darvaja. You might be shocked after knowing that this mosque was not built by any king, but it was built by the Slave of King Ahemad Shah, whose name is Sidi Saiyad in 1573 and because of that this mosque become famous as a Sidi Saiyad Mosque. This Mosque is famous for it's latticework windows and these windows are known as jalis.


        2. Laxmi Vilas Palace in Baroda

 The Laxmi Vilas Palace is located in Baroda. It was built by Maharaja Sayaji Rao III in 1980. Cost of Laxmi Vilas Palace in the 19th century was 60 lakh Rupees. At that time value of the rupee was more than in the 21st century. If we convert that money as per the value of the rupee in the 21st century, then it will be 6 crore rupees. Construction of Laxmi Vilas palace was done in Indo Saracenic Style. Laxmi Vilas Palace is one of the great Historical Places of Gujarat. Sometime Darbar Hall of Laxmi Vilas palace is given on rent for shooting in movies and music concerts.  


         3. Rani Ki Vav in Patan

The rani Ki vav is famous in Gujarat as well as in India. Rani Ki Vav was built by widowed queen Udayamati in memory of King Bhimdev 1st. Construction of this Stepwell was completed in 1063 but later on it was flooded by nearest river Saraswati. But in 1980 Rani Ki Vav was renovated and still people from all over the world came here to just look at the construction and carving of Rani Ki Vav. It is very huge stepwell but it is not being used for water, but it is being used as a tourist place.


         4 . Vijay Vilas Palace in Mandvi

The Vijay Vilas Palace is located in Mandvi, Kutch. This Palace was built by the prince of Kutch in 1929. Vijav Vilas is palace is such a beautiful place and very echo friendly. Right now Prince of Kutch is using this palace for tourism. Many tourists come here for seeing the Vijay Vilas palace. This palace is also used for shooting of Bollywood films. Shooting of Famous movie Hum Dil De Chucke Sanam was done in the Vijay Vilas Palace.


           5. Dholavira in Kutch

 Dholavira is located in Bhachau Taluka of Kutch. Dholavira is an Archaeological Place and one of the famous historical place of Gujarat. Ruins of Harrapan city was founded in Dholavira and because of that it is also known as Harrapan city. In 1967 Mr. J.P. Joshi discovered  the dholavira. There are total 8 Harrapan cities and Dholavira is one of the largest Harrapan cities. Since 1990 Dholavira is under excavation.
